London Adventures

Hello!!

I only get one weekend off work a month so I always like to make the most of it when they come around. On my last one I decided to venture down to London to visit my friends. We had amazing weather so we just sauntered around in the sun. I had my first trip down Portobello road, I thought it was really cool and kept singing the song from Bedknobs and Broomsticks, I imagine that got annoying! "You can eat like a King in Portobello road".

We went to see  The 39 Steps on the evening, managed to get a cheeky upgrade to the front row of the theatre too. I had such a good night, the show was absolutely hilarious which I wasn't expecting, I would definitely recommend going if you get the chance.

The next day was another sunny one. Apparently it was snowing at home so I timed it very nicely. We went to Hyde Park and had a little pic-nic in the sun, I decided that if I lived in London I would definitely learn to roller blade, it looks like so much fun! I got my train back later and actually nearly missed it by insisting on getting some veggie Colin the caterpillars from M&S and had to leg it down the platform!

Massive thanks to my lovely friends for letting me stay at there's and keeping me entertained for the weekend, I really appreciate it! Here are a million and one pictures of my time there, enjoy!

Springy purple lips

When I think about Spring makeup I don't normally think about purple lips, it's definitely more of an Autumn/Winter thing for me. Recently while perusing the Topshop makeup counter I discovered the Fast Lane lipstick and thought it might be the perfect in-betweeny purple. I've been a fan of Topshop's lipsticks for a long time and really like the creamy consistency they have, they're a little bit more sheer which I prefer for the warmer weather.

I also found the Mac lip pencil in Heroine. It's a slightly darker purple than Fast Lane but they work well together, especially if you want to vamp it up for an evening look. I also think you could use Heroine on it's own, I know they have a matching lipstick which I'm very tempted to try too. Who knows maybe purple lips in Spring can be my thing!

Waking my skin up for Spring

Hello!

Spring has definitely sprung and with warmer weather I think it's nice to be able to wear lighter or even no makeup. With that in mind I wanted to give my skin a bit of a boost to perk it up after the winter months. I've found two products that I think have really helped.

The Clarins gentle exfoliater brightening toner has been raved about my bloggers for ages! I've never actually tried any facial acids before but Carline Hirons raves about them and I just take any skin care advice she gives as gospel. It's honestly amazing. Initially I was using this morning and evening but have been told that's too much so now I just use it in the morning after cleansing. My skin feels really smooth and awake after using this and I find that my makeup goes on really well afterwards. I've not been using any faial srubs since using this as I don't feel that I need to.

The Body Shope Vitamin C facial radiance capsules are great. They are designed to give your skin a  boost of radiance which is perect for what I'm wanting at the moment. You get 28 in a tub so they last for a month then I think you go back to using your normal serum under your moisteriser. I use these every morning and find that by patting them into the skin and following it by my moisteriser my skin feels really great and is definitely starting to look brighter.

So there we go. If I need to brave a vare face I will be ready!! Hope you enjoyed today's post.

Colour drama

Hello!!

I've mentioned the Maybelline colour drama crayon in the colour light it up before. Since then I've tried quite a few more colours and oh my God I love them all. Lip crayons are by no  means new but this is the first time I've really got into them. I think I've been missing out. They allow the precision of a lip pencil but are as quick to use as a lipstick. What's not to like!!

After my winter love affair with the lovely rich red Light it up I thought I would expand into some slightly more spring friendly shades for the warmer weather.
I love all of them and have had one of them on my lips most days since getting them.

The colour nude perfection is just that. It's a very Kylie Jenner esque warm nude. It's not something I would usually go for but I really like how it looks and think it will look great with a tan.

The colour Fuchsia Desire is quite a muted fuchsia. I don't often where bright pinks but I feel that this one is really wearable.

This is Fab Orange. It looks really red in the photo but it is more orangey than red in real life. I think this one will be really nice for the Summer time and will definitely look good with a tan.

This is Light it up which I know I've shown before. It's one of my favourite reds now. I probably won't be wearing this as often now it's Spring but you never know.

So there we are. They've been compared loads to the Nars Velvet lip pencils and are obviously a fraction of the price so are definitely worth checking out.
I would like to point out that I thought I was having a good hair day this day but looking at the photos there is some interesting fringe action going on, not impressed fringe, why won't you behave!

Hope you enjoyed today's post!!

Fitness Friday #2

Hello!!

Number 2 in my fitness Friday series. As you can imagine from my lack of Fitness Friday posts that my journey to becoming a total warrior champ is not going too well and I only have myself to blame. With the warmer weather starting to make an appearance I know it won't be long until I have to face facts and see if I can get to the end of the race.

I was flicking through my you tube subscription box when I found this video. I watch both In The Frow and the Lean Machines any way so I was excited to see what there colab would be like. The Lean Machines are both personal trainers and have excellent tips but I often feel it's aimed more at men so when I seen them helping out the lovely Victoria I thought I would just borrow her workout and see how I get on. It's designed to fit in to a busy schedule so I really have no excuse not to exercise now. I'll let you know how I get on.

10 Happy Photos

 Hello!!

Sorry it's been a while since my last post. Every now and then my creative juices run a little bit low and I find it best to have a little break and think about what posts I want to make. So that's exactly what I've done. I feel like I've lots of ideas now so should be back with lots more posts soon. I thought it would be nice to do a "10 happy photos" post as a nice way to get myself back into blogging. Hope you enjoy!

This was taken in South Carolina when I did Camp America few years ago. Definitely could have got used to sunshine every day!

This is my Luis cat when I just got him. He's balanced on my mum's shoulder. His ears look absolutely massive!

This is at Madame Tussuad's in Blackpool. I convinced myself I could be a Kids TV presenter after this picture.

Aaah Disney, all the happy times.

How beaut is Adele. This was a very sunny and lovely day at Primrose Hill last summer.

This is me and some of the lovely ladies I went to college with. We don't see each other very often these days so it's always really lovely when we get to have a catch up.

This is me and my besties a coupe of years ago before a night out, I think it was boxing day. All of these lovelies live away now so Christmas time is when we can all get together and have a good catch up.

This is me and my sister. We were just about to see the Women in Black last year. It was really spooky I was jumping the whole way through.

I think this was one of my birthdays. It had been a while since we'd seen each other and I remember having a good giggle before going out.

This was on my 21st birthday. My boyfriend's birthday is the day after mine so we'd decided to go to Paris to celebrate. I of course decided to spend the way in Disney land and it was utterly brilliant.
So there we go! I realise this is really quite random but I actually really enjoyed having a little wonder down memory lane. I feel like this could be a tag post, do blog tags exist? They definitely should!! Hope you enjoyed today's post, check back for more beauty posts soon.
