20 facts about me

Hello!!

As I’m still new to the blogging world I thought I would run through some facts about me to let you know a little bit more about who I am. So here goes!!!

  1. I’m 23 years old
  2. I’m a Sagittarius and from what I’ve read, I think it pretty much sums me up
  3. I’m a vegetarian and have been for around 9 years now
  4. I danced for 18 and have only stopped recently and I really miss it
  5. I’m massively in to musicals and try and see shows as often as possible
  6. I still live at home with my mum and brother
  7. I also live with my 2 cats and my goldfish Fred who, I think, may be the oldest fish in the world, I’m sure he’s around 10 now
  8. I bought a guitar a little while ago and still haven’t learnt to play it but I’m still determined that I will
  9. I can’t drive! I have a test booked very soon (3rd time lucky) so wish me luck!!
  10. My favourite film is “stand by me” but whenever I try and explain what it’s about I really struggle
  11. My favourite writer is Danny Wallace. He wrote “Yes man” and “Join me” and he really makes me want to get up and do things
  12. I’m turning into a big fan of gangster films but they scare me more than any horror film ever could, there just so intense that I’m on edge from start to finish
  13. I really want to travel a lot more, I’ve been to a few places around Europe and the states but I really want to see more of the world
  14. I spend an awful lot of my spare time watching Youtube videos and reading other blogs
  15. This obviously means that I am a massive procrastinator, I always have all the best intentions for my days off but suddenly it’s 5PM and I’ve done absolutely nothing!
  16. I currently have 2 jobs and work as a beauty therapist in a spa and as a clinical therapist in a weight loss clinic
  17. Game of Thrones is my new obsession, I’m currently writing this whilst watching interviews with the cast, it’s amazing
  18. I’m a huge beauty and skin care fan. Some girls love shoes, some girls love bags but I spend all of my spare money on lipsticks, cleansers and face masks
  19. In spite of that I am quite good with my money and sort it all out into different accounts as soon as I get paid (what a bore)
  20. My favourite foods at the moment are pancakes and popcorn, so healthy ha!

Ok, so that’s some facts about me. I hope you found it interesting. It was actually incredibly hard to do (who knew!) But I just wanted to make things a little bit more personal so that any one who stumbles across this little blog knows who I am. That’s all for now, hope your all well.

Wish List

Hello!!

I've hit that point in the month where there's just a little bit too long until pay day and things are getting a bit tight. Don't get me wrong I'm still comfortable but I'm trying to be a little bit more careful with money and  save more when I can. This, sadly, doesn't leave much room for treating yourself but a girl can dream. I thought I'd share with you a few things that I've had my eye on lately so that you can maybe enjoy them even if I can't!

The first item on my list is the elemis pro-collagen cleansing balm. Cleansing balms seem to be the big thing in skin care at the moment and I can definitely see why. I use Elemis products at work so I have managed to have a little play around with this one and I can safely say it is one of the most luxurious products I have found. The smell is divine and the consistency is so silky smooth its ridiculous. I'm still sneakily hoping that I can snatch this product up soon!

The next item I've been lusting after is the Naked flush palette by Urban Decay. I've only just purchased the very first naked palette (I know I'm a bit late) and I absolutely love it. The naked flush seems to cover all bases with a gorgeous bronzer, blush and highlighter and I would very much like it to come and keep my naked palette company.

This little beauty of a playsuit is from Topshop. I really love the gathering in the centre and navy blue is fast becoming one of my favourite colours. This one however will have to stay on the Topshop shelves. I would probably only wear this one on a night out and due to my work schedule they are becoming very rare and when I do go out boogying I like to keep warm and cover my legs (I sound like a pensioner ha!)

This last one might seem a little bit random but I've recently been on a Game of Thrones binge and watched the first two seasons in about 3 days! I didn't think it was going to be something I'd enjoy. There's a LOT of killing and people are really horrible to each other which can be quite uncomfortable at times but the story is really good and has completely sucked me in. My boyfriend's a big fan of the show too so I think we might have to make a cheeky purchase before the fourth season starts.

So that's my little list of lovely things that I'd like to buy. Maybe you can get some of them on my behalf and enjoy them.

Nivea Q10 anti-wrinkle night cream review

Hello everyone!!

Today I wanted to do a little review about a recent purchase that may have just turned into a firm favourite of mine. This is the Nivea Q10 plus anti-wrinkle cream. While I still hope that I’m young enough to keep the signs of ageing at bay, lately I have started to notice a few lines creeping in and as most women would do, I’ve been panicking!! Pretty sure this won’t be helping, it’s a vicious circle don’t you know. This is why I have decided to take action in the form of my very first anti-ageing night cream. I will admit that I was sceptical about this at first; I thought that once a line was there it was there for good but so far I’ve been really pleased with the results and can safely say that my forehead crinkles have been disappearing before my very eyes.

I always like my night creams to be richer than my daytime moisturiser. Your skin repairs itself at night so I like to make sure that it’s getting plenty of help. This one has a really nice consistency that leaves my skin feeling nourished without feeling oily so you can go to bed without worrying about
smearing cream all over your pillowcase.

I’m a worrier and probably don’t drink as much water as I should so at some point I know that lines and wrinkles are inevitably going to become more of a problem for me and I probably will have to up my game when it comes to fighting them off. In the mean time however, I’m really impressed with this one and at around £10 you can’t really go wrong.

Is it just me?

Hello everyone!

This morning I finished the last chapter of “Is it just me?” by Miranda Hart. There’s something sad about the end of a book, especially one that’s made me smile and giggle from the very first page but I can say that I got more out of this book than I expected to.

Overtime I’ve realised that the things I like most in life are light hearted. This includes books, music, films and so on. Yes I can listen to emotional ballads and watch soppy rom-coms from time to time and most of the time I enjoy them but I’m definitely at my happiest when listening to some 90s cheese or watching Disney films. I’ve been caught dancing round my room to the soundtrack from Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dream coat than more times than I’d care to mention. Pretty cringey but I’m ok with that. In spite of this I can sometimes find getting stressed and down with every day life, as I’m sure most people do. Miranda’s book has made me want to change that and adopt the carefree, galloping through the corridors attitude that she has.

I would definitely give this a read if you want to have a good giggle and truly embrace your silliness. You get to shout “FLAPS” on more that one occasion and that’s always good.

This post is a little bit different but I’m still trying to find where I’m going to fit in this blogging world so I hope you’ll bare with me for now.
