Current favourites

Hello!!

Today I thought I'd show you a few products that I'm really enjoying using at the moment. I suppose we could say my spring favourites!

First on the list is the V05 high volume hairspray. I've never been a big user of hairspray (apart from a questionable rock hard pony-tale phase at the age of 13) but recently I've been using this one to keep things in place. I have to wear my hair up for work and find that this gives me enough hold as well as a boost of volume so I can play around with the style a bit more.

The next item is the high intensity hand cream from Bliss. I find this really moisturising and only need to use it once or twice a day, a little goes a long way. This smells is incredible, it's very orangey and zingy which is quite different for a hand cream but I really like it. Bliss is quite a high end brand so for a hand cream this was fairly expensive but I've been using it for quite a while now and have barely used any so I think it works out ok.

My next faveourite is the Vinylux top coat from CND. While this is designed to be used with the vinylux polishes I also use it with other brands too and find that it still works really well. I think it gives a similar effect to gel nails but without the damage that gel can cause, it also makes my polish last much longer without chipping!

Next up is the Garnier summer body moisturising lotion. This is basically a gradual tan that has all the moisturising properties of a standard Garnier body lotion. I tend to stay away from tan in the winter months but as soon as spring hits I like to add a bit of colour and I've been reaching for this one year after year. I only have to do about 2 applications before I'm nice and golden and it leaves my skin nice and soft, unlike most fake tans. It does have quite a strong tan smell but I normally just apply it at night before bed and then shower the ginger nut smell off in the morning. I love this stuff!

The next item is the Real Techniques miracle complexion sponge. I've mentioned this in a blog post before so if you want to know a bit more about it click here but basically I've used this every day since I got this and absolutely love it!

Next is Tanya Burr's lip gloss in Aurora. This is another product I've used every day since getting. I don't normally where lip gloss very often but this has converted me. If you want to see more about what I think of Tanya's new line click here.

Last but not least is the Decleor Arome tonic. You can read more about this here. I think Decleor has become a faveourite of mine in general but I am especially enjoying the Arome tonic. It's so nice to use in the day time. It's really light and the scent really lingers all day. I'm in love with this scent!

So that's it for my little round up of favourites. Hope you've enjoyed. I might make this a seasonal thing unless I have a new lift of products before the summer. Thanks for reading.

Real Techniques

Hello!!

Today I thought I’d show you the brushes that me and pretty much every blogger and youtuber have been raving about since their launch. I’m talking about the real techniques brushes from the lovely Sam and Nic Chapman. I haven’t got too many of these so far but I have used them every day since I’ve bought them and would recommend them to any one.

The first set I bought was the core collection. I got these ones ages ago, mainly for the buffing brush. The buffing brush is amazing and I use it for foundation most days. I find it gives a really good finish and doesn’t shed at all. I use the contour brush a lot too but mostly for highlighting. I can’t say I use the foundation or detailer brushes very often but I would still recommend the set. At £21.99 for 4 high quality brushes you can’t really go wrong.

I was recently after a new blush brush and thought I might have another look at real techniques stand. It's different to other blush brushes I've tried and it's tapered so really takes the work out of blending for you, anything for an easy life you know.

The last two I got on a bit of a whim because they were on offer and I just wasn’t feeling strong enough to resist! It was buy one get one half price and I had been pondering about getting the powder brush for a while any way so I did. Not an awful lot to say about this one, I’ve been using it for bronzer and it does the job nicely! I also got the miracle complexion sponge. I hadn’t planned to get this and to be honest had heard very mixed reviews but at half price I thought I’d give it a go. I wasn’t sure what I thought when I first used it to apply my foundation, it was a very different technique to buffing like I’m used to but after using it a few times I really like it. I’ve been using it damp, which seems to be working best. I think I'll be sticking to this for a while.

Hope you enjoyed this post, I hope it wasn’t too rambley. I really do rate Real Techniques and will probably be trying out more of their brushes in the future, I’ll let you know how I get on with them.

Tanya Burr lips and nails

Hello!!

As most of you probably know, the lovely Tanya Burr has recently brought out a lip-gloss and nail polish line. Until now, it was only stocked online at feelunique.com and I never got round to ordering any. They are now available in a number of Superdrug stores around the country and I was so excited when I seen my little city on the list. As soon as I got the chance I went and had a browse of the line and was really impressed with what was on offer. The ranges of colours in the lip-glosses were really good. A mixture of cream and shimmers and the polishes also had a wide choice with a lot of them replicating some cult favourites.

I was very restrained with myself because I wanted to get an idea of what the products were like before buying more. I never ended up picking up any of the polishes and just got two of the lip-glosses (well done Robyn). The colours I picked up were Aurora, (a shimmery peachy/pink colour) and Vampire kiss (a darker, blue toned red). I really like both shades and have been wearing them loads already. I’m not usually a lip-gloss fan and don’t like the feel of it on my lips but these aren’t too sticky or gloopy and taste just like strawberry milkshake!

Aurora

Vampire Kiss

I definitely want to try out a few more shades and will be purchasing some of the nail polishes to try soon too (I’ve got my eye on penguin chick). The prices are really reasonable too which is always good to know. Hope you enjoyed.

A little look in to Decleor

Hello!!
I've recently been doing some work with Decelor and thought I'd share my thoughts on the brand. It's pretty simple really, I absolutely love it! I can safely say that when I was learning about the products there wasn't a single thing I didn't want to buy immediately. I thought I'd share with you a couple of products that I have managed to get my hands on so far and that I have been really impressed with.

The first item is the Mandarine Aromessence which is a brand new product. It's designed for ages 25-30. I'm not quite in that bracket yet but as I've mentioned before I feel my skin might be ageing faster than I am and any thing to stop that is a winner with me! I've been using this in the mornings underneath my moisturiser; you only need to use 3 drops at a time so it doesn't feel heavy or oily at all. I've only been using this for a couple of weeks but can already tell a difference in my skin; it seems much smoother and more hydrated. At £49.50 its by no means cheap but the 15 ml bottle is supposed to last 6 months and as long as it's kept out of sunlight it shouldn't go off so I don't think the price is too steep. So far I'm definitely a fan and really want to get the mandarine night balm to match.

The next item I've been really enjoying from Decelor is the Arome Tonic (the problem with writing about French products is locating the little accents on my laptop ha!) This is basically a body spray that smells incredible!! My mum described it as being "fresh but with a tang" and I think she's really hit the nail on the head. This is definitely what I'll be wearing throughout spring and summer and I must say it looks rather beautiful on my dressing table too. This one is £27 which is pretty expensive but the scent does seem to last really well so I'm happy.

So that's a little look in to my first thoughts of Decleor. I'm already a massive fan and I'm sure it's only a matter of time until I'm writing about a few more purchases! Hope you enjoyed.

Am I a trainers person?

Hello!!
Lately I've been umming and aahing about getting a pair of trainers. I know this isn't exactly a life changing decision but I think I was about 13 the last time I bought a pair and I don't know if there something I could pull off these days. I know my feet would definitely thank me for it, apart from my slippers I can't imagine then being in anything comfier. I have been having a little browse online at what I might like and thought I'd share them.
Puma Rio Speed £40

Nike Flynit lunar 2 £135

Adidas Tech Super Lithe £75
So these are the few that have caught my eye. I realise there all black but I think I'd get more wear of them that way. I'm mostly leaning towards the Adidas ones but that could change. I'll let you know which ones I go for!
That's all for now, Robyn xx

A few new purchases

Hello!! I've recently bought a few new fashion items and thought I'd share them with you. Hope you enjoy!!

This first top is from Zara. We haven't got a Zara where I live (sobs) but I picked this up on my trip to Edinburgh recently. This was only £17.99 and it came in a few other colours too. I've worn it a couple of times now and really like how it looks so I might have to make a sneaky Internet purchase for one or two of the others!

This next top is from Zara too. I don't know how well I've showed it in this picture (blogging newb) but the back of it was the thing I liked most about this one. It's sort of a dip-hem but a little bit more gathered. I realise that's a pretty poor description but you can rest assured that it looks very nice indeed! This one was £25.99 but because of the colour and quite simple style, I think it's something that I'll be wearing a lot!

This last one is from Topshop. After seeing this on a client at work I went on a mission to track it down! It was hidden very well but I finally found the last one in the shop that just happened to be in my size. Win! I think this is gonna be the perfect dress up/dress down item and I'm looking forward styling it. It was £36 which I think is pretty standard for Topshop but I absolutely love it and am so pleased I managed to snag the last one in the shop!

Hope you enjoyed this one, it was my first fashiony one so let me know what you think. I may do a few outfit posts at some point and I think these tops might make an appearance.
