My 1 year Bloggerversairy

Hello!
Today it is officially one year since I started my own blog. It's something I'd been contemplating for a while and, whilst I was still full of new year's motivation, decided to pluck up the courage and go for it. It's a decision I'm really proud of and is now something that takes up a lot of my time in the best way possible. For a little celebration I've decided to group together some of my favourite posts from the first year of 'TheRobynChristina' So grab a drink, get comfy and let's have a little trip down memory lane.

This was written all the way back in March when me and the boyfriend had a little trip to Blackpool. I absolutely love Blackpool and it seems like lots of you do too as this has been my most read post so far. I'd be lying if I said I wasn't drooling just looking at those donuts.

In March I did a little series of top 5's. As lip products are definitely some of my favourite things in the beauty world, this was the toughest to try and narrow down but as I still use all of these items all the time I'd say I did a pretty good job.

This post was all about my trips away to visit friends. These are some of my favourite posts to write about as I can re-live all the giggles we had.

I absolutely loved creating this Halloween look. I hadn't really done anything like this before and was quite impressed with how it turned out. This Halloween I'm definitely gonna try out a few more ideas, I'm already excited to see what I can come up with.

I spent my 24th birthday in Paris with my lovely boyfriend. I decided to do some outfit posts while I was there, I'd never done this before and I must admit it felt a bit strange getting my pose on in very busy tourist spots but I'm pleased with how they came out.

In December I made these little cuties as a tasty Christmas treat. They were all eaten before Christmas day, always a good sign!

Well there we go. When I see it layed out in front of me like this I'm really proud of what I've created this year and I have lots more ideas waiting to be tuned into posts. If you enjoy reading them then please clink the link to follow. It's totally free and means you'll be informed straight away when there's something new to read. I can't wait to see where my second year of blogging takes me!

The comfiest boots in the world!

Hello!!

Today's post is about the first pare of heels that I can genuinely say are comfy!! I've had shoes that I thought were quite comfy "for heels" before but the Topshop Hola Chelsea boots are like wearing slippers. I've actually managed to wear them through the day for long periods of time, something my poor feet can't normally tolerate. These are great for dressing down a more formal outfit or dressing up a more casual look, which has meant that they have very rarely left my feet since getting them. I payed £45 for them a little while ago but they are now in the sale for a bargainnous £25. The Suede ones are gorgeous too but my vegetarian ways meant I couldn't get those ones. I realise these won't be everyone's style (my mum thinks they're hideous ha) but I absolutely love them. If you want to pick a pare up for yourself have a little look here to see if they have your size!

Hope you enjoyed today's post, remember to keep popping back to see more.

Another glowy foundation

Hello!!

I'm sure it will come as no surprise to you that I'm a big lover of glowy skin and illuminating foundations. I've spoken about quite a few on here already. Well, when browsing the aisles of Boots while a very tempting 3 for 2 offer was on, I stumbled across this beauty and it's love!  The Maxfactor skin luminizer foundation is just amazing. It's swirled with a highlighter so has a built in glow that doesn't appear too shimmery on the skin.
The consistency of this is quite thick and might not be everyone's cup of tea but I don't mind this. I find the best way to use it to buff it into the skin. I've been using my real techniques buffing brush and it's been working really nicely. For a dewey foundation it's surprisingly full coverage which is a change to what I normally go for but it doesn't look cakey or heavy on the skin and it's quite nice to have a slightly different look.
I find the 3 for 2 offers a great time to try out a few new things or finally pick up the things I've been meaning to try for a while or just an excuse for a little splurge!

Hope you enjoyed today's post. Keep checking back or follow to see more.

What's in Milly's make up bag

Hello!!

Over Christmas time I, like everyone else, spent lots of time getting merry with friends and family. I always like to have a little look through there makeup bags to see if they have any thing I might want to copy cough borrow cough! I thought some of you might like to see them too.

The first lady whose makeup bag I snook in to is the lovely Milly, my brother's girlfriend. She had a few little gems I liked the look of so I asked her what was what and why she liked them so much.

Rimmel exaggerate automatic lip liners Milly has 2 of these in the colours red diva and east end snob. I actually have both of these myself and I'm a big fan. According to Milly, east end snob is a great dupe for pillow talk by Charlotte Tilburry which she won't risk taking out the house.

Urban Decay Pallettes Milly has the shadow box  and the naked basics palette. I only have the naked one palette which I love so it was nice to have a little snoop of some others. Milly said that the Shadowbox was great and brilliant to take on the go but doesn't have many crease or matte shades so she uses the naked basics for this. She uses these every day for eyes and brows and thinks they last really well.

Loreal telescopic mascara This is a blogger favourite which I've actually never tried. Milly told me how long it makes her lashes. I've seen them and I have to say that it is definitely working! I'll be picking this up at some point for definite.

Collection lasting perfection concealer I used to use this all the time and it's definitely a blogger favourite. Milly liked it for the coverage and I would have to agree, it can cover anything!

Brushes Milly had the real techniques blush brush and stila number 6 brush. I actually own the blush brush and love it. The way its tapered makes it really easy to add the right amount. The stila brush looks great for blending shadow.

So there we go, a nice little nose around someone elses makeup bag. I love posts like this so hopefully you do too. Thanks to Milly for letting me ratch through her stuff! Expect to see a few more of these in the near future, I'm gonna try and space them out so it doesn't get too samey though. Let me know if there's anything you'd really like to see on here.

New Year's Resolutions

Happy New Year everyone! I hope you all had fun celebrating last night and are enjoying your day today. If I'm honest, today's post is definitely more for my benefit than any one else's. I thought that by writing down my new year's resolution's I'd have no excuse not to follow them through. I'll make sure to write posts when I've followed them through as well so you can keep me in check!

1. Pass my driving test. Some of you may have read a previous post of mine where I said this.....sadly that would be a few driving tests ago now. Turns out I'm not so great with the test situation and it has been put on the back burner for a little while. I will be getting back on it very soon and hopefully can finally tear up my L plates.

2. Leave. I currently still live at home with my mum and while that's fine and I'm grateful I can do that, I am more than ready to spread my wings now. I've been wanting to go travelling for a long time now and am definitely going to put some plans into action. I want to have something booked before the months out which is very exciting indeed.
3. Make my blog bigger and better. I've been blogging for nearly a year now and while my followers are literally still 0 (nice and easy if anybody fancies being the first) I'm really pleased with how it's looking and enjoying the process of creating it. I want to on carry learning and thinking of new ideas so it can carry on improving.

4. Do something sporty. I really like the idea of competing in something like total warrior or the no ego challenge. As my fitness levels are currently pretty poor, there will definitely have to be a lot of long and gruelling training before then but I'm strangely looking forward to it. It's very unlike me. Now I just need to convince somebody else to do it with me.

5. Go on a game show. Now I know this is a bit unusual but I've wanted to do it for ages and think it would be so much fun. I'm really not fussy, I'm just going to apply to them all and see if anything happens but I'm secretly hoping for the million pound drop!

So there we are. Quite the mixture but hopefully things I can make happen. Keep checking back to see if I manage.
