Top 5 bargain tans

Hello

Continuing on with my little series today with a look at fake tans. Now that it's starting to warm up a bit  I thought it would be good to have a little look at something to get glowy and bronzed. I've focused on the more affordable tans because these are genuinely what I use and don't really feel the need to spend more. Hope you enjoy!!

5. First up is the Simple kind to skin, sun kissed moisture cream. This is basically a gradual tan for the face. Whilst this only leaves a very subtle tan to the skin I really like the idea that it's designed especially for the face and has all the benefits of simple's usual moisturiser. It doesn't cause any nasty break outs like using a body product on the face can do. Of course this is a bargain too at £4.99

4. Next up is the Solait tinted bronzing lotion. This one came as a pleasant suprise. I bought this on a whim just to see what it was like but didn't really expect to much but it actually applies really well and leaves a nice bronzed look that's not orange at all. This one goes on with a little hint of colour then develops over the next few hours. This makes it so much easier for applying and doesn't leave you with any nasty streaks or white patches. I haven't noticed any biscuitey tan smell with this one either so you won't spend the day craving ginger nuts! Another bargain at £6.99, need I say more.

3. Next up is probably the most well known bargain tan. We all know St. Moriz is just a snidey version of St Tropez but that doesn't stop it being a good tan in it's own right. This is definitely easier to use that St Tropez as it goes on dark so you don't miss any areas by accident. The mouse texture blends really easily as well and doesn't feel heavy or greasy on the skin. I normally use this one before bed (sorry bed sheets) as you do look a little bit like an umpa lumpa at first but after a quick shower in the morning your left with a lovely all over tan with no nasty smell. I would say that this one can leave the skin feeling a little bit dry but at just £3.99 I'm sure you'll have plenty left over for a body lotion.

2. Next we have the Loreal Sublime bronze self tanning gel. Again this one goes on with a hint of colour (are you sensing a theme) I just fine this way so much easier. The gel texture with this one means it glides really evenly onto the skin and doesn't cling to any drier areas at all. I use the tinted and shimmering version but find it leaves more of a glow than full on shimmer, it smells amazing for a tan too. This ones slightly pricier at £8.99 but I think it's worth it.

1. Today's big winner is the Garnier body summer body moisturising lotion (these tans all have very long names!) I've raved about this product before which you can read here if you like. I really, really like this tan. Not only does it leave the skin silky smooth, it also gives a really natural looking tan that can build up over time. I always buy the 400ml bottle and fine it lasts me ages. This is around £7.99 but is nearly always on offer, total bargain!!

Hope you enjoyed today's post and that you've now got some ideas of how to get bronzed for summer. My next post is going to be something a little bit different that I'm really excited to share with you.

Top 5 foundations

Hello!!!

Next in the series today is my top 5 foundations. I've tried to keep it mostly high street/drugstore but their is a cheeky high end mention in there too. Hope you all enjoy!

5. So first today we have the Rimmel perfect match foundation. This is quite a new purchase for me but I've worn it every day since getting it and have really been enjoying it. It's a very liquidey formula which I'm not always great with but I've found this one easy to work with. It blends easily into the skin and is pretty undetectable as it isn't overly duey or matte.

4. Nest is the Loreal lumi magique foundation. This one is very light weight and makes the skin look very luminous and dewey. I would say it has a medium coverage but could be built up nicely without looking cakey on the skin. It doesn't have an SPF so it's ideal if you know your gonna be having pictures taken as you shouldn't get any flash back!

3.Next is the Bourjois healthy mix serum. This one holds a special place in my heart as I first tried it when I was in Paris for my 21st. The serum formula means it glides onto the skin and blends perfectly, I normally just use my fingers to do this and find that this works best for me. It has a faint fruity scent which I know isn't for everyone but I don't find it offensive and it hasn't ever broken me out.

2. Next is the YSL le teint touche eclat. I have to say that this one is very similar to the loreal lumi magique as the companies are owned by the same people this happens quite often with products. Obviously the YSL version is pricier but I do prefer it. It has a slightly better coverage and whilst it is still glowey I would say it is more of a "lit from within" type of glow. I do find that I get compliments on my skin when I wear this one and that's always nice!

1. Today's big winner is the Rimmel wake me up foundation. This is definitely my most re-purchased item of all time and I absolutely love it. I know this has been raved about for a long time but it's easy to see why. It has excellent coverage without feeling too heavy, blends really well and is dewey without looking too shimmery. I know someone people have complained about this having obvious glitter in it but I van honestly say I have never found this. I like to apply this using the real techniques buffing brush so that its really worked into the skin and find that it lasts really well on the skin after this. I really can't recommend this enough, especially for Spring/Summer. Give it a go!!

Ok so that's foundations covered. I hope you enjoyed this one. I only have a couple of posts left for this little series so let me know how you've found it and if I should think about doing something similar in the future. Thanks for reading.

Top 5 lip products

Hello!!

Today's top 5 is lip products. I've already covered lipsticks so today is everything else that I love for my lips. Hope you all enjoy!

5. First on the list is the strawberry born lippy from the Body shop. First off this smells and tastes amazing!! It leaves a very subtle wash of colour on the lips and makes the lips feel really soft. I think I actually got this free with my Body shop reward card, I would definitely recommend getting one as there are always great offers going on.

4. Next on the list are the Nivea care gloss and shine. I've been a fan of these for years and years and always have some in my stash. I'm not a massive lip gloss wearer normally but these ones aren't too sticky or heavy on the lips and they have all hydrating benefits of a lip balm. The colour pay off is very sheer but I think that makes more wearable for day time. I've not heard much about these from other bloggers before but I can't really recommend them enough.

3.Next is the Tanya Burr lip glosses. I have the colours Vampire kiss and Aurora and really like both of them. I've wrote about these before so I won't go on about these too much but you can read that post here. Basically these are really nice glosses with great pigmentation. They taste like strawberry milkshake too, what more could you want in a lip gloss??

2. Number 2 are the maybelline baby lips. I was so excited when these finally came to the UK and they didn't disappoint at all. As a lip balm these are great, they leave the lips really soft and hydrated for ages so you don't need to re-apply very often. They also leave a lovely hint of colour on the lips and yet again these taste amazing. I have cherry me, pink punch and peach kiss and use all of them regularly. I haven't tried any of the others yet as I don't think they're tinted and for me that's most of the appeal but I'm sure they'd be good to use just as a lip balm as well.

1.Today's big winners are the Rimmel apocalips. These are basically liquid lipsticks which is a concept I really like. The colours are really bold and highly pigmented so the fact that they go on as a liquid makes them a lot easier to apply without making a mess! I have the colours Big bang, (a really bold, blue toned red) and Nova (a cool toned dusky pink) Big bang is my go to night out lip product as it doesn't budge all night and I like Nova for through the day. There aren't too many other colours in the range that I fancy trying but I absolutely adore these two so I thought they deserved the number 1 spot.

So that's all for today. Hope this has given you some ideas about new products to try. I hope your enjoying this series, I've really been enjoying doing it.

Top 5 hair treatments

Hello!!

Today's top 5 is gonna be hair treatments. This is gonna be a mixture of masks, leave in conditioners, oils and everything else that I think helps keep my hair in tip top condition.

5. So first up is the Arbonne sea source fortifying hair mask. Arbonne is  always a little bit of a luxury for me and this mask is no exception. I only use this when I really want to treat my hair. It leaves my hair feeling really soft and nourished without weight it down. You'll probably be able to tell that there's not much left in my bottle but I'm convinced there's enough for one last treatment and I'm savouring it.

4. Next is the V05 miracle concentrate elixir with argon oil. I'm planning a post soon declaring my love for V05 because I really think they've brought out some amazing products recently and this one is no exception. I like to use this as both a finishing product on dry hair, or on post wash hair when it's still damp and it works really well for both. I know ingredients wise this probably isn't actually nourishing my hair but it makes it feel nice and smooth so it keeps me happy.

3. Next is the Herbal essences beautiful ends leave in conditioner. I've been using the herbal essences conditioners for ages now and I really like all of them. They're the kind of product that I really miss when I haven't used it, my hair just doesn't feel the same. Of course like all herbal essences products it smells amazing and who doesn't want amazing smelling hair!!

2. The penultimate product is the body shop coconut beautifying oil. Technically this isn't just a hair product but that's the only way I've used it so far. I massage it through my hair and scalp about 15 minutes before washing my hair and I can tell a massive difference since using it. It leaves my hair feeling soft and smooth and I feel like it nourishes the scalp too. I'm looking forward to seeing  what else this can do.

1. Number 1 is something that I've re-discovered recently and have fallen back in love with. This is the Lee Stafford treatment for hair that never grows past a certain length. (bit of a mouthful) While I've never noticed that this product actually made my hair grow, it does seem to make it a lot healthier. I absolutely love the smell off Lee Stafford products, they remind me of being about 13 when every one went wild for his polka straight heat protector. You can literally smell this in your hair until the next wash. I would definitely recommend this product for any one wanting to get there hair in it's best condition and who knows, maybe if your persistent you might actually end up with lock that Rapunzel would kill for!

So that's all for today. I hope your enjoying this series so far. I've got a few more top 5 posts planned which will becoming soon.

Top 5 blushes/bronzers

Hello!!

Continuing with my top 5 series today with my top 5 blushes and bronzers. I've combined these 2 together as I tend to avoid bronzers in the colder months and blushes are something I've only just began to experiment with recently. I'm gonna share with you the few that have really caught my eye and may have managed to convert me into a blush/bronzer fanatic!!

5. First up is the sleek blush in rose gold. This looks so beautiful in the pan and even nicer on the skin. A little definitely goes a long way with this but if applied right it gives just the right amount of shimmer and golden glow that looks amazing!

4. Next is the natural collection blush in pink cloud. This is a lovely soft pink shade which I think is lovely for spring and summer time. The consistency of the natural collection blushes are very soft which makes them very easy to blend. There are quite a few other shades from this line which I fancy trying as well, they all look very natural and wearable and at just £1.99 each I might just have to do this.

3. Next is the first bronzer on the list. This is the Bourjois Maxi Delight bronzer. I've found it hard to find bronzers that aren't too shimmery or orange on the skin. I know there's plenty of high end ones that meet this criteria but as I mentioned earlier, I just don't use bronzer enough to justify splurging. I purchased this one a few weeks ago and have really been enjoying using it. The colour pay off is really good without causing an accidental oompa-loompa face! There is a slight shimmer in this one but it's very subtle and just gives a nice glow to the skin. Like most bourjois products it smells really yummy too, just in case any one happens to be sniffing your face!

2. Next is the Collection shimmer shades, way to glow. This is a blush, bronzer, highlighter combo. I really enjoy using this product and love how multi-purpose it is. You can either pick out individual shades or swirl the brush through all of them and dust it over the face. I think it works really well for both.

  1. And the big winner today is.......the Revlon cream blush in Pinched!! This is such a lovely product. It goes on as a cream but sets as a powder while still giving the glow of a cream. I absolutely love this shade and think it looks very natural on the skin.

Ok, so that's that for my favourite blushes and bronzers. As always I hope this has given you some ideas if your looking to purchase some new ones any time soon. They're all really reasonably priced too so if you fancied treating yourself you could always try them all!! Wahey!!

Top 5 Spring nail polishes

Hello!!

Today is the second instalment in my top 5 series and we're looking at all my favourite nail polishes for spring time. Yay!

 5. First we have the American Apparel nail lacquer in the colour Butter. I think pastel shades are perfect for spring and this one is no exception. As the name suggests, this is a lovely buttery yellow shade which looks amazing with a tan. It applies quite opaque but I always like to apply 2 coats to make the colour really pop!

4. This is the O.P.I nail lacquer in the colour shorts story. I don't think O.P.I. ever gets enough love on the blogosphere but I think it's a really great brand and I can never resist the amazing shades and insanely cute names. It is a higher end brand so can be quite pricey but if your looky enough to have a capital card (or know someone who does) then there a bit of a bargain! This one is a really bright Barbie pink which looks great on the nails and again even better with a tan (why am I not blessed with olive skin?)

3. Next up is the Barry M gelly shine nail paint in the colour Dragon. I've raved about these before which you can read here. I really love this pale, bubble gum pink shade and I especially love the gel effect that these polishes have. They last really well and look amazing on the nails. Love them!

2. Next is the Tophop nail polish in the colour AWOL. This is an amazing bright blue which is really different from any other polishes I've seen. I love how it looks and is something a little bit different from the standard spring time pastels.

1. Not sure if this is cheating but number 1 is the Barry M gelly high shine in the colour Greenberry. As much as I love all the line this is definitely my favourite shade. I can't quite put my finger on what makes this one so special but it really is beautiful. If you haven't done already I would definitely have a look at these. They are absolutely amazing and keep on adding more and more shades, it's not doing my bank account any favours.

So that's it for today. Hope you all enjoyed and have got some ideas from today's post. Hope your enjoying my Top 5 series, they'll be more to come soon!

Top 5 high street (drug store) lipsticks

Hello!!

Today I thought I would start a little mini series. I'm going to run through all my top 5s, mostly in the beauty realms but I might throw in a couple of random ones too.  First up is high street/drugstore lipsticks. I'm a big lipstick fan and most of my favourites are from the high street so this was a fun one for me to do. Lets get started!

5. First is the Rimmel lasting finish by Kate Moss in the colour 01. I've mentioned this one before in a haul which you can read here. I really love this one, I tend to wear it more for nights out than through the day as it is quite full on but some one braver than me could wear it any time. The formula's nice and creamy and it seems to last pretty well too. It's also very blue-toned which is always good for making teeth look whiter! Like most Rimmel lipsticks, it does have quite a strong perfumey smell which I'm not really a fan of but I can't say I ever notice it when it's on. I'd definitely give this one a go if your after a real vampy red.

4. Next in line is the 17 mirror shine in Beehive. I've been a big fan of this one for years and apart from the new packaging, which I'm not crazy about, it's never gone wrong. It's the creamiest formula I've ever come across which makes it feel more like a lip balm than a lip stick. It's very sheer which is the only way I seem to be able to wear nudes, this also means you can just about get away without using a mirror, very handy if your in a rush!

3. Next is the Revlon super lustrous matte lipstick in smoked peach. This is another that I've loved for years and have re-purchased time and time again. It's a nude/orange colour which looks really nice on the lips. I've found this one looks nicest if I've got a bit of a tan so people with darker skin tones would really suit it. I always make sure to exfoliate my lips before using this one because it can cling to the dry skin a little bit. I would definitely recommend having a look at this line from Revlon because they have a lot of really lovely shades.

2. Next up is the Topshop lipstick in the colour Innocent. I've mentioned this in a post before which you can read here. This is a lovely dusty pink shade. I've been wearing this most days since I got this and absolutely love it. The formula's very similar to the Mac lipsticks but for a fraction of the price (so you can afford to try more of the collection!!)

 1. So my number 1 is a little bit sneaky as technically it's a lip butter rather than a lipstick. This is the Revlon lip butter in the colour Candy apple. After seeing endless raves of the Revlon lip butter's from state side beauty bloggers I couldn't have been more excited for them to finally come over to the UK. Needless to say, I purchased quite a few from the collection when they arrived and loved every single one of them but I have probably worn this one the most. You can easily wear this red day or night as it's sheer formula means you can have a light wash of colour or really build it up for a more dramatic look. I'm a big fan of both. This is another which you can do without a mirror ( I don't know why I think this is such a big selling point ha!) I would urge everyone to try this, I couldn't be a bigger fan!

OK, so that's my little line up of lipstick faves, I hope you enjoyed! My next few posts will be more top 5s which I hope you'll enjoy too. That's all for now.
