Paris in outfits: Day 1

Hello!!

Got something a little bit different for you today. As you hopefully will have seen from my last posts, I've been to Paris recently. As I'm writing this I've just got back home and I'm feeling a little bit sad to be back but I thought I would re-live the memories with some outfit posts. On this day we went to the Louvre. It's one of the most beautiful buildings I've ever seen and I love just wondering around and soaking up the atmosphere. Of course we seen lots of amazing art too, I felt very cultured!!
You may have noticed that my blog's had a little make over and I absolutely love the way its turned out. It was created by Jen at magic feather designs and she was absolutely brilliant. I would really appreciate it if you followed my blog, all you need is a Google account so it's nice and easy! Just follow the steps where it says followers, thanks in advance!

Maxfactor gel shine laquers

Hello!!
It's my birthday coming up very soon and I got these little beauties as an early birthday present from some friends. As you know from previous posts I'm a massive fan of the Barry M gelly shine polishes so was really excited to try Maxfactor's take on the trend. I'm absolutely in love with the colours; I have Vivid Vermillion and Glazed Cobalt. The texture of them is great and they really do look like gel without being overly thick and really damaging for the nails like a lot of gel polishes are. Boots currently have 3 for 2 on all cosmetics so I would definitely recommend having a look at these if you fancy.

My blogs currently in the process of getting jazzed up so watch this space. I'm very excited to share it with you. Hope you enjoyed today's post.

Tanya Burr lashes

Hello!!

The lovely Tanya Burr has recently added to her cosmetics collection with a range of false lashes. I'm not usually a regular wearer of falsies but I was such a fan of the rest of Tanya's collection that I was really excited to try them.  I only picked up two sets but there are 6 all together and they all look really natural and lovely. I chose the individual lashes and every day flutter (which are for the outer lashes) as these were both a bit different from what I've tried before. I'm wearing every day flutter here and really like the way they look. At £4.99 each I think I'll definitely be stocking up on these as the party season's just around the corner and my social life will hopefully be going from grandma to a normal twenty-something year old!

Hope you enjoyed today's post. I'm not normally one for selfies and I'm a little bit embarrassed so please let me know what you think.

Autumn Favourites

Hello!!

Today I'm running through what's really been floating my boat this Autumn. I don't actually think we're that far through Autumn yet but I feel like it's been chilly for long enough now that i can share these with you.

First thing is the Zoella Blisfull Mistfull which I have mentioned before in another post which you can read here. I've been using this every single day since I got it as it's just the perfect amount of sweetness for in the day and as it was such a bargain I don't have to worry about saving it for special occasions.

Next are a couple of lip products that I've been using loads recently. First is the Revlon colour burst matte balm in elusive insatiable. I seemed to miss the lip crayon hype from a little while ago and this is the first one I've tried but I absolutely love it. This shade is a lovely dusty, rose and although it's matte I don't find it drying at all. It also tastes really minty too which I really like.

The second is by Revlon too. This is the super lustrous lipstick in the colour Fire and Ice. If I'm honest what made me by this is that the name is very nearly a game of thrones reference (geek alert!) This shade of red is more orangey that I would normally go for but I really like it. I've either been dabbing and blending this on viviannadoesmakeup stylee or going for the full on dramatic look and I really like both.

Next are a couple of skin care items (would we class a primer as skin care?) The first one is supposed to be the Decleor hydra floral masque but like I did in my last post I have managed to take a photo of the wrong product ha! Damn those yellow bottles all looking the same! The hydra floral masque is brilliant for this time of year to help putting the moisture back in the skin that the cold weather can take out. My skin feels so soft and glowy after using this.

Next is the Maybeline baby skin primer. I've been using this every single day since I got it and it definitely helps to smooth out any the visible pores on my skin. My makeup has definitely been lasting longer since using this and as I work in avery hot spa so anything to stop my makeup from sliding off throughout the day is definitely a winner with me.

Next is the Herbal essences clearly naked dry shampoo. I've done a whole post about this one which you can read here.  but basically I absolutely love it and don't think my hair has ever smelt so fresh even after a couple of days without washing it.

Next is the Body Shop honey mania bubble bath melt. Autumn definitely means having lots of warm baths and I've been using this almost every time. I either use it on it's own or mixed with something from Lush but either way it smells incredible and makes loads of bubbles, baths with bubbles are best!!

Next is the Topshop glow. I know a lot of people like to keep highlights for Spring/Summer but I like to have glowing skin year round. You only need a tiny amount of this one and it brightens my entire face. I only use it on my cheekbones but you could definitely use it on other areas of the face you wanted to add a bit of brightness too. It blends beautifully too so you don't end up with any cakeyness.

That's everything for today. Hope you enjoyed having a look at what I've been enjoying using recently. Keep checking back for more updates!!

Evening skin care routine:Autumn/winter edit.

Hello!!

Today's post is my evening skin care routine for the cooler months. Hopefully you caught my morning skin care routine but if not you can click here. Hopefully some of you will find this one helpful.

-First thing I use is the Body Shop waterproof eye make-up remover. I use a tiny amount of  this with damp cotton pads and it gets all my eye make-up off with just one go. It's incredibly gentle on the eyes and doesn't leave any oiliness like a lot of eye make-up removers do.

-Next thing I use is the Elemis balancing lime-blossom cleanser. I've mentioned this in a blog post before which you can read here. My bottles looking a little bit sad now and I will definitely be getting another bottle soon because I think it's brilliant.

-I then follow this up with the Elemis balancing lavender toner. The Elemis toners all come in spray bottles which feels really refreshing on the skin. I just spritz a couple of pumps and it feels really cooling and soothing on my skin. The lavender scent is lovely and relaxing before bed too.

-Next I use the Simple soothing eye balm which I mentioned in my morning skin care routine, I find this works just as well in the evening and helps to sooth my tired eyes before bed.

-I then use a night cream. I'm currently using the Olay double action sensitive night cream. I always like to smother my face in night cream before bed so I've worked my way through this pretty quickly but really like the texture of this one and find it very hydrating. I've only recently re-discovered Olay but have been enjoying there products a lot recently.

-About once a week I like to use a mask over night to really lock the moister into my skin. I've currently been using the Decelor hydra floral masque and absolutely love it. (Being the idiot that I am have taken a picture of the wrong product but to my defence the bottles look very similar!) This mask goes on as a really smooth cream and then completely sinks into the skin and disappears. I leave it on over night and rinse off whats left in the morning. It makes your skin feel amazing and I always feel like my skins glowing after I've used it.

Hope you enjoyed today's post. Keep checking back for new updates as I've started to upload a bit more regularly.

Morning skin care routine:Autumn/Winter edit.

Hello!!

Today I'm going to run you through my current morning skin care routine. I'm really happy with my skin at the moment and although I've definitely cleaned up my eating habits recently I would mostly put it down to the products I'm using. I would say my skin is combination to oily but is definitely starting to feel a bit dehydrated recently due to the cooler weather so I've started to use a few things to lock in a bit of moisture. Hopefully some of you find this helpful!

-I always start with the Elemis tri-enzyme resurfacing facial wash. This really helps to smooth my skin and leaves it feeling squeaky clean and incredibly soft. I used to suffer with broken capillaries and redness in my cheeks and the resurfacing technology in this seems to have really helped to reduce the appearance of these.

-Next I use the Elemis gentle rose exfoliator. I don't use this every single day although it's designed to be gentle enough to do so if you feel you need to. I only use it about twice a week and feel that this is enough for me. I love the rose scent of this and the texture is so silky and gentle. As well as buffing off any old skin it also helps to hydrate the new skin underneath and my skin always feels better for using it.

-Next I use the Decleor aromessence neroli. Decleor have a range of these for every skin type and the neroli is designed to hydrate the skin. You need the smallest amount of this so you hardly feel like there's anything there but I can definitely feel that it's working. (PS, excuse my obvious blue tacking in the picture, dammit!)

-I then like to follow with an eye cream. At the moment I'm using the Simple soothing eye balm. My eyes are one area that I noticed being particularly dry and I will hold my hands up and admit that I had been slacking with eye creams. I'm sure this one isn't doing anything overly amazing for lines and wrinkles but it definitely helps to sooth and hydrate the eye area which I'm happy with for now.

-Finally I moisturise. I'm currently using the Olay essentials complete care for oily/combination skin. At first, I wasn't sure what I thought of this product but after using it for a while I find it really helps to soften and brighten my skin and think this will become a regular purchase for me.

Hope you all enjoyed today's post and hopefully some of you found it helpful if you have similar skin to me. Keep posted for my night time skin routine coming soon!!

Autumn Palettes

Hello!!

This time of year the department stores start to fill up with beautiful high end Autumn/Winter palettes with shades so beautiful I could weep! Sadly, the prices bring a tear to my eye too, which leaves me and many other people popping them on our Christmas list in the hopes that Santa will fill our stockings with them but just in case our hints get ignored, I decided to have a little look at what the high street had to offer and I must say I've been more than impressed with what I found.

First up is the MUA undressed palette. This is only £4, for 12 beautiful shades, what a bargain!! With a lovely range of matte and shimmer bronze shades and a couple of darker grey shades you could really create some lovely Autumnal looks with this palette. I've always found MUA to be brilliant quality with excellent colour pay off. I definitely think this one is worth picking up if your after something new for this season.

This is the Bourjois smoky stories palette in the shade rock this khaki. I think palettes like this make it so easy to create a look as all the shades compliment each other perfectly. I don't normally wear green eyeshadow but I really liked the look of these and thought I'd step out of my comfort zone a bit. I think it would be nice for creating an  Autumnal twist on a smokey eye. This one was £7.99 which I don't think is too bad at all.

Next is the Rimmel glam eyes palette in Brixton brown. I'm really excited about this one as I know it's been compared to the Charlotte Tilburry Dolce Vita palette several times and at £6.99 is obviously a fraction of the price. Similar to the Bourjois palette this is nice and easy for creating a full look. I don't know how often I'll be using the rusty colour but think this adds something a little bit different for getting into the festive season so I'm excited to see what I can come up with.

Last up today is the L'oreal la palette nude in Rose. This is a new release and what I would describe as L'oreal's take on the Naked palette. This is the most expensive of the bunch but at £14.99 is still massively cheaper than most of the high end palettes that are on the go. This has a mixture of shimmer and matte shades and a bigger variety of shades than the naked palette does. I'm especially intrigued by the berry shade at the end as I think this will be something a little different without being too crazy. I think this is rather beautiful and think it makes a good replacement for the naked palette if you don't fancy paying as much.

So there's my little round up pf high street palettes. Of course we can all still secretly hope for some Tom Ford or Charlotte Tilburry treasures under our Christmas trees this year but if you aren't lucky enough then definitely check some of these out because I really do think they are just as good.

Hope you enjoyed today's post. I'm going to try and upload more regularly so watch this space!!
