My 2nd Bloggerversairy

So my little blog has turned 2....well I never!
To celebrate this not so massive for any one but me event, I thought I would share some of my favourite posts from the last year so we can all look back......nostalgia.
At the start of last year I applied for the quiz show Two Tribes and by some miracle they found me charming and entertaining enough to let me on. This may seem a bit silly to some people but as I'm not always the most confident of people I was very proud to have accomplished this. I wrote all about my experience of the show here.
I competed in Total Warrior last year and it was tough tough tough. It was definitely a memorable and  very fun experience, I had mud in places where mud should never be!  I wrote all about y experience here.
Last year I discovered the Ultra bland cleanser from Lush and we got on like a house on fire. It's definitely up there in my all time favourite products If you would like to read more about it then click here
This is one of my favourite posts of the year purely because I love the pictures. Thank god for my mum having a duck egg shed that looks like a beach hut! This is also where I made some rather yummy summer drinks. If you'd like to see some more of this then click here.
This one was one of my Halloween looks from this year. I created a few looks but this one was my favourite as I tried a few different techniques and felt like it worked really well. I am definitely no make up artist so it was still very simple to create. If you would like to see how I did it then have a look here.
Visiting my friends in London is one of my favourite things to do. They've all lived there for a while now so it's great to see the not so touristy side of things. I remember having such a good time on this trip. Cheap theatre tickets, my first time at a vegetarian restaurant and ciders in the park on a sunny day, what more could you ask for. If you'd like to see what else I got up on this trip then click here.

Lush is one of my favourite places all year round but it has a special place in my heart over Christmas. I discovered some real gems this year that I look forward to stocking up next Christmas. I loved the pictures on this post too, but sparkly bath bombs make that easy. If you'd like to see what else I got then click here.
This is the look I created for Valentines day last year. I was really happy with how the look came out and I really liked how the pictures came out too (I don't just mean my face, I mean the product pictures really) I have a new valentines look coming up son but if you would like to see this one then click here.
When I discovered the Maybelline colour drama lip pencils I fell in love. I loved every single one I tried and raved about them to every one I knew. If you'd like to see more about them then click here. Try them, you'll love them!
Leaving to go travelling was one of the most exciting and nerve racking experiences ever! I'm here now and loving it and I'm so pleased we decided to take the risk and do it! If you'd like to read a little more about my adventures then click here.  As I'm still travelling currently make sure to follow my blog and have a look at my youtube channel to see what else I get up to.
So there we go! 2 whole years of The Robyn Christina. While it's still a smaller community I'm pleased to have you here and I will keep working hard create posts that you enjoy! If you'd like to share my posts with any one you think may be interested then I'd really appreciate it. I really hope this post hash;t seemed like one massive plug, I just wanted to share my favourites with you so we can all get nostalgic. Thanks for supporting me so far!

The 9-5 cleanser

So when I left England I was all set with my Bliss cleanser....we didn't get on but that's a post for another day. Since then I had been using a cleanser from Soap and Glory which I do like but it has now come to an end and I thought the best idea was to get something that I know I love! I popped in to Lush to pick up my usual Ultra bland cleansing balm but then I spotted this. Now, I love Ultra bland a lot and this tends to have me being a little heavy handed and getting through it really quickly. When I spotted 9 to 5 I thought I would be getting more bang for my buck!

I've only used this a handful of times so far but I really like it. It's designed to be quick and it really is. It's also very simple in terms of ingredients which is perfect. I want a cleanser to remove all the gunk off my face while leaving it feeling healthy and soft, them it gets washed down the sink, a lot of fancier cleansers can sometimes be a little it unnecessary. It has floral essential oils and and almond oil base which means it smells very fresh and leaves my skin hydrated, that's all I need.

So there we go, a potential new favourite that will hopefully last me a long time. Lush to the rescue once again!

Melbourne Botanical Gardens

When you're travelling money definitely starts to become an issue and the more free things you find to do, the better. Staying in a city as cool as Melbourne this isn't too difficult. One of the coolest things we've found was the Botanical Gardens. It's only a short and free tram ride away from where we live and it's honestly beautiful. The weather was definitely on our side the day we went and we had such a nice time wondering around and chilling in the sun.

I can't wait to go back another time. We really want to hire some bikes next time and bring a picnic, I think it would be the perfect summer day out.

Sephora sleeping masks

If you're a regular reader of TheRobynChristina you will know that I love a face mask. Whatever problem I have with my skin there is usually a face mask to match and they give an instant boost to your skin. They can, however,  be a little bit time consuming so when I find one that you can slap on your face and go to sleep I am all over it!

The Melbourne Sephora store opened a few days before I moved here, clearly fate. I have been in several times but as a traveller I am on a budget so most of the time I just look...I don't know why I put myself through it. While most of the products are out of my budget for now I have found the Sephora own brand is much more affordable and that is where I found the sleeping masks. There are around 5 types of masks that cater to different skins so you can literally pick and chose what you need each day.

The masks are $5 which is a total bargain and although there is only enough product for one night, there is another to cover your whole face, neck and decollete so you definitely get your moneys worth. They're very easy to use as once you've slavered it on you just get your head down and then rinse it off in the morning to reveal beautiful, bright skin. Basically, I love them.

Lush fresh face masks

If you follow me instagram you may have seen that my lovely boyfriend surprised me with a Christmas stocking full of all my favourite treats, he's a good'un. Inside the stocking were some Lush treats, I was thrilled especially as I know that the Lush stores normally give him a bit of a head ache. As amazing as they smell it can be a little bit over whelming.

One of the products he'd chosen was the Catastrophe Cosmetic fresh face mask. They don't last too long as they're fresh so I didn't waste any time in getting it on my face and see what I thought. It claims to cleanse and soothe the skin which, after a Christmas spent having a few too many on the beach, is exactly what my skin needed.

It looks a big grim in the tub but once applied it turns blue as it contains blueberries. You just leave it on the skin for around 10 minutes and then remove with a warm cloth. My skin felt very soft and smooth after, I want to use the rest up soon too and see if helps reduce the redness around my nose and cheeks.

I'm sure Steven hadn't meant to get me hooked on another Lush product but I think that may be exactly what he's done.

New Years Resolutions!

If you've been reading my blog for a while now you'll know that last year I posted my new years resolutions and managed to accomplish them all. It's something I'm very happy about as new years resolutions are notoriously difficult to stick to. It definitely helped me have a more productive year as it was just working through a list of things and ticking them off as I went. I have decided to do the same again this year.
This year's resolutions/goals are going to be slightly different as I am on my travels and don't know where I'm going to be from month to month which means. They may be a little bit more general but I will work my way through them none the less.
1. Do something extreme.

I thought I would get the scariest one out the way first. I feel that whilst in Australia I need to sky dive or swim with sharks or do something that will scare my mum. I haven't specified what in case I chicken out of anything but watch this space, dare devil Robyn is on her way!

2. Be more sociable

This sounds a bit sad because I am sociable but being on the other side of the world means I need to be able to make friends more easily. This is something I've always struggled with a little bit. I can chat to people ok but I'm rubbish at making them a friend, I feel like I'm asking someone out! I'm sure It's just conquering my fear and not being so silly.

3. YouTube

I have been thinking about this for a while and I definitely want to have a go at the whole youtube shebang! I'm planning on doing weekly vlogs initially but may try other things out later on. Please let me know what you think of this idea or if there is anything you'd like me to try.

4. Get fitter

I know this is something every one wants to work on and yes I will be one of those January gym bunnies but I feel like I've got so unfit during my travelling and I don't like it at all. I'm definitely planning on finding a gym and I want to try lots of different classes as well. I think this will also help with me being a bit more sociable and meeting some new people.

5. Grow my blog

This was a goal of mine last year and as there are now a whopping 15 of you (sounds sarcastic but I am pleased) I have succeeded. I want to work to continue this as I love working on The Robyn Christina and love being able to share it with people.

6. Master chop sticks

I've added a sneaky 6th goal as this has been bugging me recently. Melbourne has a massive Asian culture which means incredible food is really easy to find, however, this amazing food often requires chopsticks and I just can't use them! I normally struggle for a while then ask for a fork but I don't want to be that person any more, I will be a chopstick master!

Happy New Year!!!

Happy new year to you all! I've had an amazing year and feel like I've accomplished a lot. I can't wait to see what exciting things 2016 has in store.
I hope you all have an incredible year! I've learnt that you have to make things happen for yourself so set goals and dreams and make them happen!
