My travel make up

It doesn't seem like 5 minutes since I announced my travelling plans and now suddenly it's a few days until I fly. It's an exciting and terrifying feeling! After packing up the majority of my makeup collection yesterday (sobs) I thought I would share with you a few of the things that will be accompanying me down under. I was sat on the train back from London whilst making the tough decision of what to take, my friend I was with was studying for her final accounting exams and pointed out that it really wasn't that hard......mine was more of a Sophie's choice scenario....sort of.

I've tried to chose multi-purpose products so I didn't take too much and I think I'm happy with what I've chosen....ask me in 6 months when I'm pining over the totally impractical Mac heroine.
Skin care:

-Bliss fabulous foaming face wash. This is a 2 in 1 cleanser and exfoliator (multi-purpose!) This smells like bubblegum and it means I don't have to take a separate exfoliator.
-Soap and Glory sunshield spf 50. This is kind to skin as it is intended for the face so doesn't clog my skin up.
-Simple rich moisturiser. I've been using this a lot recently and really like it. It's a real no frills moisturiser that gets the job done. Simple!

Body:

-Loccitane almond shower oil. I love this product and it's great for showering as well as shaving and hydrating the skin.

Face:

-Bare minerals original in golden medium (way too dark but I'm predicting a tan) This is so buildable and versatile that I thought it would be perfect for taking away.

-Bourjois maxi delight bronzer....because, bronzer.

Eyes:

-Maybelline colour tattoos in pink gold and on and on bronze. These are really easy to work with and don't budge once they're on.

-Maybelline the falsies, waterproof. It's simply my favourite mascara.

Lips:

-Maybelline baby lips. These have an spf which is essential.

-Maybelline colour drama in Light it up, you have to have a red lipstick.

-Revlon lip butter in Creme brule, a lovely gold nude that's so easy to wear and great with a tan.

-Mac coral bliss. This is also easy to wear and nice and summery....yes I am heading to summer!! Whoop!

I'm using a Cath Kidston case for my products. I've tried to find it online but could only find this one. I absolutely love it as it can fit so much in and had 3 seprate compartments. 2 of the sections can be taken out and used separately too, they're see through so can be used for flights which is perfect.

I hope you enjoyed today's post, things will be changing slightly around here soon but I will try and be as consistant as I can, keep posted.

Mermaid

Flipping your fins you don't get too far, legs are required for jumping, dancing.

This is my third and final Halloween look and I am a mermaid....I hope you can tell. Again I used products that I already had at home to create this look and I'm really pleaswd with what I came up with.

I wanted to keep the look really pretty and feminine rather than scary so started with a dewey foundation, I imagine mermaids would be all over touche eclat if they had the chance. I then created a pink/purple shimmery eye look with lots of mascara. You could definietly add some false lashes to this look too. To create the scaled effect I used some cut up fish net tights as a sort of stencil and then stippled on some purple eye shaddow, I think it looks really effective. I also added a few gems but you could also add sequins or glitter if you wanted to go a step further. I then added some glossy, pink lips to finish.

I kept it very simple and easy for this look but you couldeasily add to it if you wanted to. So many shops are stocking amazing Halloween items this year so if you could pick up a mermaid wig to complete the look no problem. I added some purple hair chalk through the ends of my hair but as my hair is quite dark it doesn't show up too much.

I hope you enjoyed today's post. I have one more Halloween post plannedso keep checking back to see that. I just love Halloween!

I am a vampire

I am a vampire a vampire a vampire. I have lost my fangs.

This is scary look number two and I am indeed a vampire. Again I wanted to keep the look relatively simple and just used things that I already had.

I used a pale, full coverage foundation as my base and then followed this with a white powder, as I wanted my skin to look really porcelain. I hollowed out my cheeks with a black eye shadow and blended it in so it wasn't too harsh. I created a purple smoky eye and wanted my brows to look really bold and strong so went a little heavier on these. I used Mac heroine on my lips as I wanted this to tie in with my eyes and I thought this would be quite vampiresque. I then added some fake blood around my mouth to finish the look. I did have fangs...I couldn't get them to stick to my teeth. If I was to wear this out for Halloween I would definitely make sure I had some to complete the look.

Let me know if you try this out.

Zombie

In your heeeaaaad, in your heeeaaaaad, zomie, zombie, zombieh eh eh!!

This is my first Halloween look of the year and I have had so much fun creating the looks. Why aren’t there more excuses for adults to dress up? This year I wanted to create looks that were easy to re-create and would use things that you would already have at home. I'm not going to list the products as I've used a real miss-match of all kinds but I'll take you through the just of it.

I used a white powder all over my face then contoured with a matte black eyeshaddow to hollow out my cheeks. I used a mixture of greens, browns and greys around my eyes and just played around with them until they looked well and truly dead. I used effects wax which I bought for a few pounds online, to create some raised cuts and then used fake blood through them. I used some brown and black around these areas too so they looked bruised.

It's as simple as that really. If you wanted to go further you could always add some scary contact lenses and do a crazy zombie hairstyle but I wanted to keep it a little simpler. Let me know if you decide to go for this look for Halloween.

Just a little reminder that my giveaway will be ending today, you have untill midnight to enter. I'm giving away an amazing Elemis set. Make sure you're a follower then just click here and leave a comment to be entered.

Lush Christmas

It's that time of year again...sort of. I had actually popped in to Lush the other day to check out their Halloween products only to see that they'd by passed that holiday all together and it was in fact Christmas. I love Halloween so I was a little bit disappointed but then I started rummaging through the new Christmas products and got very excited indeed.

They have some amazing Christmas products out. Some new and some old favourites that come out every year and I loved them all. I had to be a little bit sensible as I'm going away soon so wanted to get things I would use up before going, I focused on the bath bombs.

Butterbear: I think this is a new one this year and is similar to the butterball. The scent is really mild which some might prefer. It has cocoa butter and ylang ylang in which are great for the skin. Once in the bath it leaves small chunks of coca butter floating around, these melt into the skin and leaves it feeling soft and silky afterwards. It's a bit of a bargain at £1.95 too.

Cinders: This is an old favourite and one I buy again and again every year. It's the classic Christmas scent and is so spicy and warming that you feel all cosy in the bath. The popping candy on the top bursts when it's in the bath and if you close your eyes you feel like your lying next to a crackling fire.

Luxury Lush Pud: I think this one has been out before but I haven't tried it. I love how bright and colourful it is and just know it will turn into something even more exciting in the bath. It's main ingredient is lavender so I know it will be prefect for before bed or at the end of a long day.

The Yog Nog: This bath bomb is huge and the scent is the perfect mix of sweet and spicy. It's supposed to be very hydrating and softening for the skin but I know it will be great for relaxing and warming up on the chillier nights.

The Sparkly Pumpkin: This is the only bubble bar I picked up as you can get a few baths out of each one and I didn't think I'd have time to use up too many. I couldn't resist this one though. I'm sure it will make a big mess of my bath but it's just so pretty and sparkly. It has a hint of spice to it so it still smells festive but is more fruity as it contains quite a lot of citrus fruits. I love it and can't wait to use it up.

So there we go, officially Christmas, sort of. I wanted to share these while they were still new but I have lots of Halloween posts coming up too. There were so many other amazing products that I would have loved to try too, for those of you not moving to Australia in the next few weeks, you should definitely check them out!

I have a giveaway running on my previous post so make sure to check it out and get entering!

100th post giveaway!!! (Closed)

So this is the 100th post on my little blog and to celebrate I thought I would do my first ever giveaway! I've been exited about this for ages so I'm really happy to be able to tell you all about it.

Regular readers of The Robyn Christina will know I love a bit of Elemis. They have just launched their Christmas gift sets for 2015, perhaps a tad premature but exciting all the same! I thought this would be the perfect prize for my giveaway so I had a little browse through all the lovely sets and decided upon the Radiant moment set for normal/combination skin. I felt that this would be suitable for most people and I absolutely love the products inside the set.

Products
-White brightening even tone cleanser: This cleanser is new to Elemis. It's a very light, foamy texture that really helps to brighten the skin and is also great for any pigmentation problems.
-Herbal lavander repair mask: This mask is great for deep cleansing the skin as well as healing and soothing breakouts. It's great for a once a week pamper sesh.
-Hydra balance day cream: This is a nourishing and soothing, light weight day cream. Again, it's new to Elemis but already a firm favourite.
-Hydra nourish night cream: This is another new release and is brilliant for hydrating the skin over night. It works all through the night so you wake up with beautifully fresh skin.
